The Student Experience
This conference was designed for Upper School students who are interested in exploring issues of identity (sexual orientation, race and ethnicity, age, ability, socio-economic status, gender and religion). Activities will ask that students build community and lean into discomfort. This conference is for any interested Upper School student.
Participants will be led by a diverse team of trained Upper School facilitators from Abington Friends School, Friends Select School and Perkiomen School and will work in large and small groups as well as affinity groups. The keynote address will be given by Rodney Glasgow, Chair of NAIS Student Diversity Leadership Conference.
The Adult Experience
Rodney Glasgow will lead adult participants in a professional development experience while students are in workshops. The focus of this time together will be on creating Fierce Conversations and leading diversity programming in independent schools.
Adults will also have an opportunity to work with their students on creating a workshop or discussion group that other participants can attend.
