FRequently ASked Questions
Is MARD happening this year?
Conference planners have decided to have a Diversity Summit for students instead on April 22, 2023. We will host the 11th MARD in the fall. Dates to come! This event is for students only.
Is MARD only for upper school students?
The conference is designed for and by Upper School students, but we do welcome eighth grade students that are already committed to doing diversity, equity, and inclusion work.
What do adults do during the conference?
Adults join the students for the opening keynote and the closing ceremonies. During the rest of the day they do a workshop with Dr. Rodney Glasgow. This year’s theme of that time will be about having difficult conversations.
Can adults come to the conference that aren’t bringing students?
Yes! Adults may register for the conference using the same link.
Do students need to be accompanied by a chaperone?
Students do not need to be accompanied by a chaperone. However, if they are not with an adult chaperone, they are expected to bring a guest permission form that is signed by a parent/guardian and a school administrator. That form can be found here.
